About The Role:Provides the full range of Instructional Design creative services to build eLearning and training materials for RWS Learning Solutions clients. Applies advanced creative and marketing expertise to ensure the highest impact, frequently in highly visible and/or strategic areas. Interviews, selects, hires, leads, and coordinates internal, external and partner Instructional Design resources, including ID resources selected to design training in different source languages. Responsibilities: Operational Excellence – Develops creative strategies and presents to project team/clients, frequently containing multiple components and/or in complex situations. Leads creative sessions with client and project teams, taking into account different perspectives and approaches. Incorporates a variety of input and ideas into final plans. Frequently leads project teams in the development and execution of creative programs, providing creative guidance and execution support. Develops relationships with 3rd party suppliers and incorporates into overall execution plan. Executes strategy, develops goals, and monitors plans (e.g., budgets, calendars, resourcing) to ensure performance requirements are being met. Delivers Quality, Value, Results – Advises team and collaborates closely with clients to ensure project/deliverables are effectively scoped in order to determine instruccional design strategy, resource requirements, budget and timeline. Evaluates and adjusts approach, tools, and workflow to ensure project/deliverables are of the highest quality and meet expectations. Leads cross functional and/or creative services initiatives to improve overall outcomes and quality of the creative services function. Functional Excellence – As a subject matter expert, leads and/or provides expertise in initiatives that build the overall effectiveness within the instructional design and creative services function (e.g., process improvement, best practices, and tools/workflow). Working with management, helps to develop effective practices and processes that improve the overall effectiveness of the eLearning Development function (e.g., leveraging new tools/technology, improving workflow and communications.) As a thought leader, researches trends and innovations in his/her specialty that can increase thevalue creative services has on the business. Relationship Building – Instills confidence with clients and internal stakeholders by effectively understanding and addressing various, unique business requirements and applying to instructional design strategies. eLearning & Video Overseas creation of information designs, storyboards, concepts and formats Works in collaboration with others to produce a variety of learning and training products • Plans and directs instructional design productions • Performs post-ID activities such as: reviewing storyboards, making editorial decisions, adjustment, corrections, final editing Selects instructional designers and resources, internally and externally best suited to work on each project based on specialization, background, subject matter expertise, availability, budget etc. Design, Graphics and Art Direction Meets with clients to understand goals and purpose of project and learning objectives Determines how best to represent a concept pedagogically Oversees work on a variety of different types of instructional design elements Oversees creation of overall designs, develops artwork, and/or layouts Incorporates a variety of instructional design elements Works with others (e.g., external specialists) to source/create storyboards Establishes budgets and timelines for projects Presents designs to clients for input and approval Writing Creates outlines and key messages based on goals/purpose of the training Determines the appropriate writing style and language elements based on purpose/goals Works on a variety of different types of writing (e.g., blogs, articles, videos, white papers, web pages, direct mail campaigns, brochures) Reviews and edits work based on client/manager feedback Requirements: At least 5 years’ experience in relevant eLearning Instructional Design role Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of additional languages is a plus Ability and confidence to communicate with clients and present to groups Experience in localization and language services industry is a plus Life at RWS - We work hard together to deliver for our customers; our expertise, professionalism and determination to never let others down drives us to be passionate and serious about what we do, deliver customer value, yet always adding a human touchAs a company focused on connecting people through language, diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our company culture.
